The Vintage Computing Festival Berlin (VCFB) is an event about historical computers and computing technology. The vintage computing hobby is being presented with exhibitions, lectures and workshops. Our goal is to contribute to the preservation of historical computers and other data processing devices, and to foster interest in "superfluous" hard- and software. Our focus does not only include historical computers, but also historical operating systems, software, programming languages, network technology and other devices that compute, like calculators and calculating machines.
The VCFB is located in the Pergamon-Palais at Humboldt University in Berlin. The event is open for visitors on Sunday and Monday, 2nd and 3rd of October. On October 1st, we will host a community forum for our expert visitors. Buildup will begin on September 30th. Entry is free. The programme is available for download here (German).
In addition to dozens of exhibitions, lectures and workshops, our program also includes:
Pergamon-Palais, Georgenstraße 47, 10117 Berlin, Germany
The venue is near Berlin-Friedrichstraße. In the direct neighborhood you will find restaurants, some of which may have cheap offers. It is not possible to sleep at the venue. For navigating within the building there is a floor plan.
By public transport: Take the S- or U-Bahn to Friedrichstraße, then walk five minutes or take the M1 or Tram 12 to Georgenstraße/Am Kupfergraben.
By car: On the weekend of the event, a lot of roads will be closed for a national holiday, especially the Straße des 17. Juni, the main road leading to the city center from the west. We recommend you use the A 100 highway up to the junction Beusselstraße, then after 2 kilometers turn right into Müllerstraße, following signs towards "Mitte". Continue along this road until you pass the train station Friedrichstraße, then turn left into Dorotheenstraße. At the end of the road, turn left and left again into Georgenstraße, reaching your destination.
A parking garage is available in Dorotheenstraße 30 (maximum height 1.90 meters). Exhibitors can stop in front of the venue for loading and unloading only.
