On December 29th 2018 we founded the non-profit association Vintage Computing Festival Berlin e.V., or VCFB e.V. for short. The association arranges the VCFB in cooperation with the German Museum of Technology and the Department of Media Science of the Humboldt University Berlin. As the VCFB is organised and run by volunteers and funded through donations, we depend on your donations and membership fees. We're also glad if you want to participate in planning or carrying out the event.
Here you can find the bylaws of the VCFB e.V. The association has a monthly mimimum contribution of 1€, as you can read in the membership fee regulations.
You can become a member by filling out the membership application form and sending it to the board by post or e-mail, or by handing it in at the infodesk during the VCFB. The privacy admonition on the back is supplemented by our general information on data protection. You can decide between a regular and a supporting membership. Supporting members back the association financially but have no vote at the general meeting. Legal entities can only become supporting members.
If you want to financially support the VCFB other than with a membership in the VCFB e.V., you are welcome to donate. Donations to us are tax-deductible, see the notice of tax exemption. In case you need a donation receipt please write your postal address in the payment reference or write to finanzen@vcfb.de. For in-kind donations for the realisation of the VCFB like soldering tools or materials for our soldering and repair workshops please contact the board.
The association doesn't have a storage place, and therefore can't accept donations of computers or other hardware. However, we can help you to find a new home for your historic computing technology at a collector or museum. At the VCFB there is a give-away and swap corner. You can put hardware you want to give away there or feel free to pass it on to a taker in exchange for a donation to the association. For in-kind donations of newer hardware we refer to the non-profit association Computertruhe e.V.
